Stan Miller began studying music privately at age 9. Playing saxophone at a junior high school talent show, he has been performing before a live audience ever since. While in high school, Stan began to take music more seriously, learning to play the guitar, piano, bass violin, bass guitar and tuba.
While in school he participated in concert band, marching band, and jazz band. After school, he played in R&B bands, eventually playing gigs on weekends. He earned a scholarship to the Dana School of Music and attended Youngstown State University. His solo career began when a friend asked him to play for his wedding. His solo performance now includes jazz standards made popular by Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Joe Williams and others.
Since then, Stan has developed his own particular brand of "cool Jazz", which fans throughout Northeast Ohio have grown to love. He performs at weddings, parties, nightclubs, country clubs and special events. He is often found performing in upscale establishments, such as wineries, country clubs and supper clubs, where patrons desire an element of sophistication without a jarring sound. The sounds of Stan's smooth voice and cool jazz saxophone provide the perfect backdrop to a relaxing evening of sipping wine and enjoying a good conversation.
Whether singing a familiar bossa nova or delivering a rendition of a classic tune, Stan puts his own stamp of style, grace and flair to every performance. He has recently performed at Winston's Tavern in Austintown, Grand River Cellars Winery, Squaw Creek Country Club, J B Milano's, Laurello Vinyards, Elizabeth's at Conneaut Lake Park and the Vintage Ohio Wine Festival.
Stan'S CD, entitled "Let's Fall In Love" on the Mojotone label, a division of Cry Baby Records, is available at his performances and on his website.
